I have started making a logo and have it laid out how I want it to be, although I can't design it so it looks right. I was wondering if somebody would be willing to help out. If interested I can show you what I have, what I am trying to do and maybe you can help me out.

Thanks

Faded Maximus

yeah think it might be wise to show it first before people know if they can help out :) a good logo (for non-web use) should be in vectors...

It's for web use, so I'm not really concerned about the vector portion of it.

All that is currently in place is the text and a paintbrush outline of what I want.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v512/Fad...nt=logocopy.jpg

I want the mountains to be continued from the top of the 'i' and go down under the text. Something similar to the coors light logo of the mountain on their beer caps.

An additional feature, but not required is the two stick climbers that are hanging off the letters. Not really sure how to go about that nor do I have the talent to do it ;p

I don't have illustrator, so it makes it hard for me to edit them ;p

I only have photoshop.

If you had to merge most of the items to 1 shape to make it work, there probably isn't much you can edit for me unless you want to restart it..

Anyways here are the changes:

I don't want the green under the mountain, I would prefer just the outline. I would like the climbers to be bigger so they are easier to spot. I would also like them red instead of black so they stick out more.

I'm also not really keen on that font, so if it is possible perhaps you could use a different font. I like the one that I used. It is Bradley Hand ITC.

Also if you could make the dimensions bigger so the entire logo is bigger. I don't know if you can just scale the whole thing afterwords with it being a vector? Maybe it doesn't get distorted and blurry?

Sorry if I sound picky!

Also how did you make the climbers? :p

Thanks,

Faded Maximus

well i did have to start over a bit but thats ok.. i noticed it was the bradley hand but that font was too small to let it smooth over into the mountain-drawing.. so i tried ya another font that i think loox really cool.. hope u agree.. rest of the things ive done :)

about the size.. its vector so u could blow it up till airplane size and still stay sharp... so if u want to use it in photoshop: use the pdf file... open it or use "place" :)

Looks great.. The font is an improvement over the first that's for sure. I guess it's hard to find a font that flows into the mountain.

I just don't think the cursive font looks that great and thought more of a hand printed would be better.

If you want to try to fit another font that would be cool, if not that is cool too.

I like it alot! The climber on the 'K' looks much better!

By the way, how did you do the climbers? Are they just clip art in illustrator or did you do them by hand? I haven't ever used illustrator so I don't know ;p

If I were to get illustrator can I just modify the pdfs or is there another file in vector format that I would need to get from you edit it.. like the psd of photoshop?

Could you also make the same version, but with white writing and a white mountain outline please as well as grey?

Color: #FFFFFF
Color: #888888

Thank you so much!

1) about the font.. tell me what u like/dislike bout the font.. i have over 2000 fonts.. and i tried many handwritings....what makes a font ok or not for ya? indeed hard to make it flow into the mountain curve AND Have room for both climbers...

2) our compagny has an account on an imagebank... shutterstock.com... i downloaded them from there.. if not one could always try to make a black/white verison of it in photoshop and then trace it in illustrator...

3) u could edit the file in Illustrator. maybe theres free vector software aswell..have a look here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vector_graphics_editors
.. its like a tif file in photoshop.. not the original format but still has layers etc. the illustrator main file is .ai (or .eps) but most people cant view then, hence the pdf :)

I was thinking something that wasn't so artistic for a font. Too me cursive or hand writing is too perfect if you will. I was thinking something that didn't look so perfect, something along the lines of the Bradley Hand ITC font to fit in with the jagged mountains.

Maybe if it's not too much work, trying to make the dot of the 'i' red as well - unless you think it will look stupid then don't.. you are a much better designer then I am!

Like I said earlier if you have trouble finding a different font, the one you picked will infact work.

If you find a different one to use, can you post it please and if not could you do the current one in those two other colors for me. That would be great!

Also any chance I could get those stocks of the climbers and/or any other climbing stocks you may have? ;)

sure.. here are the stocks:
http://www.zshare.net/download/573377645869bb36/

and about that font... i really think we have a different kinda view.. coz to me the Bradley Hand is actually very clean an school-written...not rough at all.

so please do me a favor and have a look here:
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=603&nb...xt=Kyle+Lemoire

then give me a few font(names) u'd like and i can try them for ya :)

Thanks for the pictures. I guess we do have different opinions :p

As for fonts I was thinking something more like:

Joe Hand 2
PhontPhreak's Handwriting
Note this!
Egdar da cool
Jellyka Jellyfish

Hopefully that gives you a better idea. Can't wait to see it!

Thanks again,

Faded Maximus

Exactly like that! I like that font much better. It's perfect.

Now if I can just get that one in the three versions, that would be great.

#000000
#FFFFFF
#888888

I also got a copy of illustrator from my school so I can't wait to play around with it and play with some vector files ;)

You are the best!
